Blink and you could have missed it, but for a few weeks there, Santander were offering relatively decent rates on Isa's when compared to many other providers.

As we reported last month, in our article on the best cash Isa's accepting transfers, Santander had launched a couple of competitive rate cash Isa deals in the run up to the tax year end. Their Major Isa and Direct Isa Saver among the better Isa deals on offer to those wishing to use up their tax free saving allowance before April 5th.

Both of these Isa products have now been pulled by Santander. The replacement Direct Isa Saver offers only 2% compared to the 2.5% on offer a couple of days ago. The 3% Major Isa deal is still available to those holding a Santander 123 account.

For those who managed to open one of the accounts before Santander snatched them back, you have until the end of May to use them for your 2013/14 tax free savings cash Isa allowance. That allowance has increased to £5,760 for this new tax year.
