HMRC Direct Selling

*Please note the information in this article may be out of date

HMRC's Direct Selling Campaign is aimed at those who sell to customers outside of a retail shop. Sellers are sometimes referred to as 'Agents' for the companies whose products they sell. Selling could involve a party, sales door to door or simply selling to friends or relatives. Sellers or Agents take commission on those sales which they should report to HMRC if they earn enough to pay tax. If you are involved in direct selling and have not told HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) about all of your income, you may not be paying the right amount of tax. The Direct Selling campaign is an opportunity for you to bring your tax affairs up to date. The campaign started on the 26th September 2012 and runs until 28 February 2013.
